Web Design - FAQs Q: How long does it take you to develop a web site?

A: Time frame depends on the project itself as well as on other projects in queue; however web site development takes 2-4 weeks on average. We can give you a more detailed answer if you send us a quote with specific information about your project.

Web Design - FAQs Q: What is the average price for small business web site?

A: Prices vary depending on customers' requests, but from our experience we can say that average price for e-commerce web site is $1500-2000.

Web Design - FAQs Q: How much do you charge for your services?

A: We charge $40.00 per hour, and we also provide fixed prices on a number of services and for all our packages.

Web Design - FAQs Q: Are there any hidden fees?

A: There are no hidden fees in our services, but you should keep in mind that domain name registration and hosting are not included in the project's price. Besides these some shopping carts and merchant account services require monthly payment.

Web Design - FAQs Q: Do you have any special offers, discounts, promotions?

A: Absolutely. We provide 10% discount for non-profit organizations on all our services, and we offer prepaid discounted hours for web site maintenance. Besides these, buying any of our special packages gives you additional opportunity to save money. Discounted price for additional web pages is available with any of our packages.

Web Design - FAQs Q: What kinds of services do you provide?

A: We provide a wide range of services including web design, web programming, web site redesign, database development, search engine optimization (SEO), logo design, web site maintenance, shopping cart configuration, blog software setup, image gallery software setup, and consulting with web site promotion. Please refer to our full list of services.

Web Design - FAQs Q: What is your specialization?

Our primary specialization is e-commerce web sites and web sites built on Content Management Systems, but we also create web sites that require database development and custom programming, and promotional brochure web sites.

Dream Web Design does not specialize on Flash web sites or web sites that require heavy usage of Flash elements.

Web Design - FAQs Q: Do you require a signed contract?

A: We require a signed contract for all new web site development, web site redesign projects, and monthly contracts for web site maintenance/support; however we do not require signed contracts for a number of on-going services. Besides these, you must carefully read and agree with our Terms Of Service policy before purchasing any of our products.

Web Design - FAQs Q: Why do you provide lower rates than average?

A: As a small private web development company, we can afford lower rates because we work from home office and save a lot of money on office rent and additional personnel (receptionist, accountant, cleaning services, and so forth). Hiring us, you pay for web site development only, there are no hidden fees.

Web Design - FAQs Q: When should I make payment?

A: Payment time is always discussed in all signed contracts; however if your project doesn't require a signed contract, we charge 50% of total price up front and the rest after project's completion and approval. If you purchase discounted hours for maintenance or require emergency service, you should pay up front.

Web Design - FAQs Q: What kinds of payment do you accept?

A: We accept checks and online credit and debit card payments with secure Google Checkout. For more information please refer to our Checkout page.

Web Design - FAQs Q: Can you build site that supports multiple languages?

A: Yes, we can create a web site that supports multiple languages, and the cost of development of the web site is not multiplied by the number of languages you order. Please request a quote for project price estimate.

Web Design - FAQs Q: I'm a remote customer. Can you still serve me?

A: Absolutely. We have clients from all over United States. Our primary communication methods with remote clients are email, phone, and live chat. Please refer to Contact Us page for more information.

Web Design - FAQs Q: What is a domain name and how to register it?

A: A domain name is a unique address used for identifying a web site on the Internet. The domain name consists of two parts separated by a period. The first part is usually text that identifies a person or an organization (such as dream-web-design). The second part briefly identifies the type of business or organization it represents - common domain identifiers include .com, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .edu, .gov, or .int.

It generally costs $10-15/year to register a domain name. You will have to renew your registration every year; otherwise your domain name will be registered by someone else. Please see detailed information about domain name registration.

Web Design - FAQs  Q: Do you provide web hosting at Dream Web Design?

A: No, we prefer to work with large hosting companies whose prices are lower than resellers can offer, and who can provide 24/7 free support. Please see the list of web hosting providers we recommend.

Web Design - FAQs  Q: What type of shopping cart do you recommend?

A: Our recommendations vary in each specific case. The decision about shopping cart type depends on your business' needs and your personal preferences. If you do not have a large amount of items to sell and/or you do not generally need to edit your online store, we suggest to select an open source shopping cart (Example: Mal's e-commerce), or merchant service shopping cart (Examples: Paypal, Google Checkout) that are free of charge and easy to configure.

However if you need to update your online store regularly, the best solution will be a database based fully integrated shopping cart (Example: CubeCart), that contains administrator panel to make changes. This type of shopping cart will require either one time payment or annual/monthly fee.

Besides shopping cart type you should think about merchant account if you decide to process online transactions. Any merchant account provider requires either monthly payment and transaction fee or transaction fee only.
